Close, but yet so far!

Yet another 4th place in super combined for me.  Tho, this race felt better than the 4th place i got in Kitzbuhel last weekend.  After being 5 and almost 6 seconds behind the best downhillers during the week, I was pretty nervous today at the start. The chances of me being top 30 after the downhill didn’t look to good if I didn’t step up my game significantly.

I did some minor adjustments to my setup again for the race today, and luckily i think it paid off. Shaved 2,5 seconds off my time and finished the downhill 2.7 seconds behind the best. By all means – my downhill is far from good. But at least i made it top 30 and had a great starting position for the slalom.

Managed to pull of a good slalom run. It makes me proud to see that the world’s best slalomskier, Kostelic was slower than me in the middle section! Anyhow. 4th it is.  Training downhill with the french guys tomorrow here in Chamonix, before flying to munich, then driving to Reiter Alm and theeeen giant slalom on tuesday morning. Phew. tight schedule..
